Grep/Awk My Contributions To Linux Kernel

This post is just made out of excitement. But hey, wait, you will learn two new commands, as I learnt too. 🙂

Grep my insertions and deletions and files changed in linux-next

git log --author=Tapasweni --shortstat $BRANCH | \
awk '/^ [0-9]/ { f += $1; i += $4; d += $6 } \
END { printf("%d files changed, %d insertions(+), %d deletions(-)", f, i, d) }'

This will give you

160 files changed, 695 insertions(+), 651 deletions(-)

not in blue! obviously.

Let’s find the count of patches or commits by me:

git log |grep Author |grep tapaswenipathak@gmail.com |wc -l

This will give you

104

not in blue! again.

Yayy! 😀
